Our PHEV has a vacuum sealed tank that keeps the fuel fresh.
Never had an issue since 2018 with fuel that doesn't get used at all.
Plus once a month it starts up the ICE just to make sure everything works.
Except Ford EVs.
My Mach E has been problem free and with most recalls handled OTA.
Last one was the 12v battery recall which they fixed with an update.
The only current recall I am waiting for is a rear diff recall which I am not sure if mine is part of it....
Mine has been modified with 2" lift springs, sway bars, and Ford Rally wheels with +4 RFT tires.
Tires are run flats much wider than OEM and higher load rating running at 33 PSI.
Range hit is about 10% at high speeds.
I sure hope so because the old NMC batteries on the Lightning and Mach E are pretty slow on a fast charger. Sure they peak but it settles down to much lower rate than other 400V systems can do.
I just hope that the 400V new advanced LFP batteries will be able to charge quicker than the old NMC...
Lightning & Mach E standard battery goes 230 miles in the city but less on the highway.
4 years driving EVs - perfect range for me as I stop at Tesla Superchargers on long distance drives, allowing me to stretch, take care of business, and even have a bite to eat.
Longer range is nice but...
Yes, 100% correct.
LFP is a much better choice for first time EV owners as well as those that practice charging to 100% even on NCM batteries.
SOC buffers will still prevent you from truly reaching 100% charge no matter LFP or NCM.
Even if the charge indicator shows 100% on the screen, it's...
Should be interesting if the Fathom will be classified as a truck or crossover since the unibody design seems to infer a crossover...
Makes a difference when DMV charges for the registration (commercial vs non).
Recent long distance trip yielded something interesting:
Increasing tire pressures to 39 PSI on the tires increased range to almost what I used to get before the OEMs got switched out.
Ride is stiff, but the range was better.
When I got back home I reduced pressure to 33 PSI and comfy, soft...
No - Fathom won't have a gas generator - too expensive and bulky to add onto a small crossover/truck platform.
Scout has an EREV planned - I have had a deposit with them for years now and haven't seen one yet.

Yes you do need to get your crayons out.
It's easy to find complaints, user errors causing 12V parasitic drain, and even experience a 12V failure.
There are way more EV owners that have never had an issue with 12V batteries which you never hear about.
The "common" 12V is no longer the old...
^^^ this 100% correct.
@WXman:
Message forums like this and many others are full of speculators, wannabes, armchair critics, and keyboard warriors posting from AI.
Based on past Ford EV rollouts, there were a lot of people speculating the HV battery would drain and unable to work if left...
100% correct!
Out of state (outside CA) buyers will pay sales tax if they pick up at the CA dealer.
If it's shipped outside CA then no sales tax.
I am looking at doing the Long McArthur pickup in Salina, KS for the discount as well as a 60 day KS temporary tag.
Just found out that I have to...
