  1. Fathom top trim model will be priced @ high $30K range

I called this months ago. With ER battery, AWD, and an option package or two plus taxes, dealer fees, etc. you'll easily be over $40,000. The $28k number is a "bait n switch" technique in textbook fashion.
  2. Fathoms spied testing next-gen BlueCruise by Latitude AI

You guys are missing the entire point. The number of autonomous cars is a fraction of human driven cars right now. Yet, autonomy is leading to more fatalities. Stats back it up, but common sense should be all we need. I can promise you that the first time an autonomous car hits me or my...
  3. Fathoms spied testing next-gen BlueCruise by Latitude AI

Yesterday there was a video of a couple riding down the interstate in a Tesla and they were both sound asleep with their heads slumped over. Then this morning I wake up to a video of a separate Tesla who had a sleeping "driver" behind the wheel on the highway and it ran head on into a police...
  4. Fathom's bidirectional AC power can power your home (V2H)

I agree 100% @rileyfromford . Call me a "Boomer" if you want, but I will NEVER pay a subscription fee to use features on my vehicle that I've already paid to purchase. Ain't happenin'. If that's how it's going to be, I'll go to Harbor Freight and pick up a 10kw generator on the Black Friday...
  5. New Trail PKG being offered on the 2027 Mach-E

What I want to know is will there be a FX4 or Tremor version of the Fathom?? Hmm?? @rileyfromford
  6. 5,000+ Unicastings Produced for Fathom -- 146 parts reduced to just 2 castings

I just hope for really good quality. There's still the question of how can they sell these for $30k and make profit off them unless the quality of materials is going down? I mean, we've seen what Slate brought to market. It looks like a large version of a Power Wheels toy. Absolutely...
  7. Fathom's bidirectional AC power can power your home (V2H)

On average, my house uses about 1,500 kW per month, or roughly 50 kW per day. We have 1-2 kids still living part time at home, and then the wife and I. So, the answer to your question depends solely upon how big the battery pack is in the Fathom, and for some reason Ford ain't sayin'!!! But...
  8. New Trail PKG being offered on the 2027 Mach-E

They're terrible. Can't rotate them properly, they're noisy due to the directional tread, and guys commonly complain about having to replace them around 35k miles. That's just terrible for the price.
  9. New Trail PKG being offered on the 2027 Mach-E

Most of that is because the TrailSeeker can be bought under $40k. Subaru actually has a whole slew of AWD EVs that start under $40k. Money talks. Which brings us to the Fathom.........
  10. Charging Recommendations & Best Practices for the LFP battery in the Fathom

There's a guy on the Mach-E forum with 400,000 miles on his 2022 extended range (NMC) pack and it's showing around 90% SOH. He says he's had zero mechanical failures. Pretty impressive stuff....
  11. New Trail PKG being offered on the 2027 Mach-E

What a joke. A 1/2" lift and crappy tires that you can't do proper rotations with. I'll pass.....
  12. Tim says fully loaded Fathom well below mid 30's

So take $500 off to make destination charge closer to $2k. Then add $5k for ADM. You've got a $45k truck on your hands, without being fully loaded.
  13. A change to the Fathom site? - "Dealer sets selling price"

This might be self-limiting. THE REASON people are excited about Fathom is the price. Price is king here. It's the entire point of Ford building the vehicle actually; to have a cheap EV option in the marketplace. So, if a dealer tries adding large ADMs to the MSRP they will severely limit...
  14. Will Ford get BlueCruise right for the Fathom?

There's a reason Tesla leads all brands in vehicle fatalities. I'd prefer they leave the driving to me, and reduce the cost of the vehicle by leaving sensors and hardware that is unnecessary off the Fathom. You have to remember, even one $2 sensor multiplied over hundreds of thousands of...
  15. Fathom Will Get More Frequent OTA Over-The-Air Updates (Like Tesla and Rivian)

OTA update means something needs to be fixed or improved. If there are lots of OTA updates that therefore means the vehicle wasn't polished and ready when I bought it. I don't view "more frequent OTA updates" as a positive. I just want a good, reliable vehicle.
  16. SLATE Truck Revealed as Modular SUV & Pickup - News & Info

Quality of a high school shop class project, as expected. Let's hope the Ford Fathom is a little more polished.
  17. Charging Recommendations & Best Practices for the LFP battery in the Fathom

39 months and 47,000 miles and the NMC pack in my Mach-E is showing 93% SOH. Should have seen 200 charge cycles or a little more. When I bought the car last week, it appeared that it has been getting charged to 100%. I now have it set up to charge to 95% each time. (Ford artificially reduces...
  18. Fathom info (including infotainment & ADAS) -- from Ford presentation at Morgan Stanley 14th Annual Laguna Conference

It's funny that you say that, because Apple actually does not have that much technology compared to other companies when it comes to hardware. If you don't believe me, just look at this latest batch of phones they released this month. I heard that they are paying Samsung $250 per device because...
  19. Fathom info (including infotainment & ADAS) -- from Ford presentation at Morgan Stanley 14th Annual Laguna Conference

If this is such an amazing idea, why didn't they do it years ago? This is all clearly an effort to cut as much cost as they can out of building the vehicle due to recent economic strain on buyers who are sick of $60k vehicles. And therefore I am MOST anxious to see how this translates to the...
  20. Fathom vs. Mach-E

I looked at the Trailseeker also. Very interesting vehicle. The interior is where it falls behind. Very Toyota, i.e. dirt cheap. Looks like Rubbermaid was contracted to make the interior. And the placement of that 1980s LCD looking gauge cluster is horrific. It's a shame because the rest...
