Remember their philosophy: "no part is the best part and the second best part does lots of jobs". 12v components require 12v step-downs. Based on our conversation with the engineers at EVDC, I expect most everything will be 48v with 12v limited to a couple of outlets.

When I went to high school and started college in Louisville I had multiple friends who worked at LAP and KTP. It's interesting to see all these BEV manufacturing facilities going into the South.

We don't know the bed size but I think Maverick-sized bed with a larger interior is the most likely. It will have a very useful frunk as well.

Agreed. My wife and I pulled a 25' travel trailer across the country and back in 2023 -- before we had access to travel trailers. Except for severe situations that push the limits like that trip didn't, range anxiety isn't an issue any longer.

Also remember that the Fathom has zonal architecture with multiple (5?) independent electronic zones: one in each quarter of the truck and perhaps a separate cabin zone for the central electronics. I'm not sure about the fifth -- it might be part of one of the two front zones like the connection...

I'm rather curious whether Ford actually confirmed this. When I toured the EVDC facility earlier this year Ford would not confirm this. The way the article is written makes me think this is a speculation by the author. The electronic controls engineers inferred there might not be a 48v battery...

It's only a rival if you're comparing apples and oranges -- or in this case CUVs and small trucks.
