Mustang ”Ute” Concept now in Ford Heritage Collection

The heritage fleet does exist, at least partially, to use past ideas and concepts to inspire future vehicles, and Ford's CEO has said he wants to do a new ute.

Something like this would look really cool. Keeping with the coupe ute theme, something like a EV small ute with styling that looked like a mid-engine supercar, short hood, angled sail pillar, flaired fenders, etc. Would love to see something like that, or this make it into production.

Australian Ford Falcon, Ute version.

They did some cool things there, like a crossflow head version of the inline six. But reality prevailed and now they drive more reliable Asian cars at half the price. All the auto industry employees were absorbed into other industries. Could happen here one day if Ford slips up on the UEV. It’s not an understatement to say Ford’s entire future is riding on the UEV.

Both the sedan and Ute variant were cool cars. Fathom gives me those Ute vibes, a Falcon sedan would be a cool third car in my garage.

Considering the original 1964.5 Mustang was pretty much a sportier 2-door Falcon, that lineage is pretty close.
