"As Ford Authority reported back in July, vehicles riding on the new Universal Electric Vehicle (UEV) platform - starting with the Ford Fathom - will come with integrated Apple Maps, courtesy of MapKit for Automotive SDK, which allows automakers to embed and customize that feature. This came as a bit of a surprise to many, particularly following Ford's partnership with Google in developing its fairly new Digital Experience software. However, Apple Maps will also spread to other models beyond the Ford Fathom and its UEV peers, too. "

Not overly surprised. It'll be interesting to see if they port it back to existing models with the Google Digital Experience or not.

Apple maps has been better than Google for me in recent years. I’m sure Apple has worked on suitability in the car space to be able to compete in the market

Apple is also better for privacy

I was wondering how Ford was going to be able to close with FSD; it seems it will be a combo of integrating good map data + sensors. Their off map lane steering is already quite good
