Wall Street Journal: Ford Wants to Sell 100,000 Fathoms in Year One

The feedback i am getting from local dealers is discounts to secure an order, not markups.

For Fathoms? Or just car sales in general?

I have only discussed the Fathom. So far, they are telling me they will beat the X Plan and Costco pricing. I asked if CERT qualified as First Responder discount, and got a yes. Don’t know if that will actually happen, but every response I get (spoke with three dealers so far) is “give me a chance”, not get in line. Florida dealers have a $1000 processing fee that they add to MSRP. It went away with one dealer in a conversation with a few promotional discounts. I am not claiming they are matching Long MacArthur or Grainger, just in getting feed back that has markups before you get in the door. We have alot of dealers within 50 miles. Closest is Autonation, which has good reputation for sales and service. I hope they follow through. Keeps my life easy!
