  1. Fathom - Possible Midgate Patent - US 2025/0333118 A1

Considering a fathom is six feet under water, the possibility of water intrusion seems high. It'll certainly be noisier than a solid wall.
  2. Mustang ”Ute” Concept now in Ford Heritage Collection

Considering the original 1964.5 Mustang was pretty much a sportier 2-door Falcon, that lineage is pretty close.
  3. Mustang ”Ute” Concept now in Ford Heritage Collection

Sure would make a cool Fathom design.
  4. Fathom vs. Mach-E

Nope. Ford never said that or even hinted it would be an option.
  5. Rumor: January announcement (release event + build & price)

And yet the bumper on the Lightning is steel. You just never know until you test it ( I now have a magnetic bumper sticker on my Lightning).
  6. Farley reiterates $30K Ranchero EV pickup starting price + Order Banks open late 2026

Announcement and pre-orders will be early 2027: https://view.msg.ford.com/?vawpToken=YKZB4JYVF2RUDOASG6QBH22UAA.120051
  7. 2027 Ford electric truck replaces 12V with 48V zonal architecture

Remember their philosophy: "no part is the best part and the second best part does lots of jobs". 12v components require 12v step-downs. Based on our conversation with the engineers at EVDC, I expect most everything will be 48v with 12v limited to a couple of outlets.
  8. Ford Fathom on Track: Universal EV Production Comes to Life at Louisville Assembly Plant (LAP)

When I went to high school and started college in Louisville I had multiple friends who worked at LAP and KTP. It's interesting to see all these BEV manufacturing facilities going into the South.
  9. Two Fathom EVs spotted @ Tesla supercharging station in California

We don't know the bed size but I think Maverick-sized bed with a larger interior is the most likely. It will have a very useful frunk as well.
  10. Two Fathom EVs spotted @ Tesla supercharging station in California

Best charge port location would have been front-right. Same orientation as Teslas but you pull in forward instead of backing in. Also solves the charging with a trailer problem. While I won't be towing a 25' travel trailer behind a Fathom like I do my Lightning, even small trucks need to tow...
  11. Rumor: January announcement (release event + build & price)

Check again. Much of the Mach E body is Aluminum.
  12. Rival: 2027 Kia EV3 sales start at $29,890 in USA

  13. Tin Foil Hat Post

Agreed. My wife and I pulled a 25' travel trailer across the country and back in 2023 -- before we had access to travel trailers. Except for severe situations that push the limits like that trip didn't, range anxiety isn't an issue any longer.
  14. Ford Fathom on Track: Universal EV Production Comes to Life at Louisville Assembly Plant (LAP)

by Tim Newcomb 08.13.26 Ford Fathom on Track: Universal EV Production System Comes to Life at LAP Normally, Ford’s 3-million-square-foot Louisville Assembly Plant (LAP) is defined by the steady drum of thousands of people assembling vehicles. But one year ago, Ford announced the plant would be...
  15. 2027 Ford electric truck replaces 12V with 48V zonal architecture

Also remember that the Fathom has zonal architecture with multiple (5?) independent electronic zones: one in each quarter of the truck and perhaps a separate cabin zone for the central electronics. I'm not sure about the fifth -- it might be part of one of the two front zones like the connection...
