  1. Farley says “It’s going to be a heck of an effort to launch this [Fathom] at scale, at cost, on time.”

They did the same thing with the Acura RDX - stopped production of the current model before the new model was ready.
  2. Farley says “It’s going to be a heck of an effort to launch this [Fathom] at scale, at cost, on time.”

Maverick and Bronco owners have been through this already. The Fathom order books will open in early 2027, but production isn't starting until sometime later 2027. So few early adopters will have their Fathoms in 2027, most will be waiting until 2028 for their trucks
  3. Fathom Frunk Patent Images Revealed

Found these this morning on the US Patent website. Will the Fathom have s split frunk access like this?
  4. Ford Power Promise Program - Will Ford include the Fathom?

This would be a good incentive. Current EV owners likely need to upgrade their charger to NACS to avoid using an adapter, and non-EV owners will need one anyway
  5. FORD's failure to fix the ESCAPE PHEV is a problem for me. Trust FORD?

Ford WILL NOT do a recall that involves actually changing parts. They do everything possible to fudge the repair with software fixes, no matter what the problem is.
  6. Ford Fathom Auto show appearances/demo drive availability before delivery

Ford had tons of events for social media for the Maverick. I'd expect the same for Fathom
  7. Ford's $30K Fathom Truck Could Be Killed by Ban on CATL Battery Deal

Ford already uses LFP batteries in the Mach E. Where do those come from? Also, I thought I had read that the long range Fathom was using a different chemistry battery
  8. Ford's $30K Fathom Truck Could Be Killed by Ban on CATL Battery Deal

Sean Duffy is confused. But let's say the administration gets a bee in its bonnet about this. Ford already said that the UEP can accommodate different battery chemistries, so Ford might have to pivot to a different battery for the truck, which might affect the pricing.
  9. Toyota Highlander EV 3 row SUV

So far Scout is the only one doing EREV right with the range extender underneath the bed. Ram is just using their 3.6 v6 under the hood, and Ford will probably do the same
  10. Wall Street Journal: Ford Wants to Sell 100,000 Fathoms in Year One

100k seems like a stretch. As long as a similarly priced Maverick Hybrid with a 600 mile range exists, buyers are really going to have to consider their options between the 2.
  11. Signed Purchase Agreement

Many people who ordered Mavericks and Broncos a few years ago got screwed when their dealers reneged on selling at MSRP once the trucks arrived. Do some research about the dealer you are considering ordering from before committing.
  12. New video & photos: Ford Fathom in the Wild (Las Vegas detour during hot weather testing)

I found this image on the US Patent website in April. The patent was for the assembly method Ford is using for the UEP. Looking through the other drawings, this is a dual motor EV crossover. Perhaps the new Escape EV?
  13. Ford Fathom on Track: Universal EV Production Comes to Life at Louisville Assembly Plant (LAP)

Still curious as to how all these pieces come together to make a solid crash structure. You've got the "chassis" made up of a front rear and center sections that all get bolted together. But that leaves you with a skateboard that you then have to bolt the door frames and roof to later. Seems...
  14. What features do you hope the Fathom might have?

Things I'm missing on my 2022 Maverick I'd like on a Fathom: 360 cameras and parking sensors Cooled seats Higher powered plug in the bed (400w on the Maverick doesn't do much) A fully opening mid gate Power operated frunk Things I'm worried about the Fathom lacking: A quality interior - plain...
  15. Tim says fully loaded Fathom well below mid 30's

Is Ford making the Fathom a premium product vs the Maverick or something more affordable?
  16. Tim says fully loaded Fathom well below mid 30's

The destination charge is about $1600 and already announced, so the base Fathom comes in just under $30k including destination. I agree that The Fathom pricing is going to ramp up quickly. I'd doubt a fully loaded Fathom ends up cheaper than a loaded Maverick.
