Signed Purchase Agreement

Has anyone been able to obtain a signed purchase agreement after placing an order? If so, any advice on how to get this from a dealer when the Fathom orders go live?

I'll tell you how it worked at my local dealership when I placed the order for my Maverick back in the fall of 2022. When order banks opened, the salesman called me, and we placed the order after giving them a $400 deposit. He provided me with a copy of the order being placed and a copy of the purchase agreement with the price.

My dealership doesn't do markups or document fees on principle. The principle is that they make more in the garage and use salaried salespeople, so they don't need to nickel-and-dime you on the sales floor. So, I was given an "out-the-door" price which included the requisite taxes and state fees.

When I got to delivery, I then worked through the usual upsell session. For a Fathom, I think an Extended Service Plan is a must, since fixing an EV is not cheap. However, those are decisions that are not made when you place the order. So the "out-the-door" price will be prior to those.

I wouldn't purchase the extended warranty at the time of sale. At least not on a Ford.
I doubt very many dealership finance departments will match the price of Ziegler, Flood, or Granger, for the Ford ESP warranty.

Many people who ordered Mavericks and Broncos a few years ago got screwed when their dealers reneged on selling at MSRP once the trucks arrived. Do some research about the dealer you are considering ordering from before committing.
