I think the rear is padded to hide how the back of the cab angles down, but also how the cab wall is recessed. Just my theory. I also think we might get active aero extensions off the back of the cab to improve airflow over the bed even further. But maybe that's expecting too much.

True, but I believe that parent showing the side could be showing the general shape and proportions of the truck, just with the finer details removed. It has the raked windshield, angled front end, and shorter hood.

That might actually be the general shape of the design, and it looks better than the renderings led us to believe.

Imagine a mustang with this tech, and architecture, that would be incredible.
