Not exactly a cross shopping scenario though with a Ranchero or Maverick.

Chevy WT 1500 with the 2.7?
F150 XL 2.7?

And even those ICE truck with 400 miles range and 8000lbs towing capacity, is going to experience a very similar hit in range when towing.
True. I'm just saying... if a guy needs to buy a new truck and he NEEDS those two metrics (range and towing capacity) and he finds that the options are between a very expensive electric truck and a cheap gas truck, he may very well decide the gas truck is worth it.

Of course, if those towing specs are needed then NONE of these compact trucks are on the table so for this forum it's a moot point.

Honestly, if I knew for a fact that I would be towing 8000 lbs often, I'd probably step up past even tho 1/2 tons.

Not because there aren't 1/2 tons that can legitimately tow 8000, but I just don't enjoy how they carry that much on their chassis.

But yeah, these little trucks like the Maverick, Ranchero, and even the old school Rangers, Nissans, Toyotas..... They are a genre of their own.

Although the introduction of 4 doors sure expanded their usefulness

I'm not a towing guy, but this blew my mind this weekend.

Pretty neat little rigs, that's for sure. Not my cup of tea in the looks department, but I can appreciate being doing something different. It seems to be a very impressive little vehicle
