Do you have a hybrid? Your Maverick could do one-pedal, if you try hard enough. I have a 2025 hybrid and I am one-pedal for probably 75% of my driving. I only brake when absolutely necessary and otherwise just use the gas to control things.
I do have the hybrid and have driven with "L" selected a few times to get the extra regen, but it will occasionally rev the engine when slowing in "L" if the battery is fully charged and I don't care for that. Mostly I just us the brake pedal to apply regen and try to brake early/smooth enough that the pads don't come into play.

I use an OBDII reader and the free Car Scanner app to display live text data onto my Carplay screen. I can keep an eye on charging and discharge current to the battery as well as the battery charge level plus the gas engine torque. Those are the main triggers for hybrid/electric modes.

To Ford's credit, the Hybrid does a good job keeping the charge between 40-60% almost all of the time. In hybrid mode, when it gets below ~40%, there will be some charging done by the engine, and when it gets above ~60% OR you need more go-juice, the electric motor will help out the gas. It's pretty mild when you're just cruising in the hybrid mode, but I've yet to see the battery go over 70%. I guess if you are coasting down a long hill/mountain it will top off, but we've nothing like that here.

When in hybrid mode, the mav will switch to electric-only mode IF the battery is > ~40% charge AND the engine torque falls below < ~40%.

Once in electric mode, it will switch back to hybrid whenever the charge falls a bit below < ~37% OR the current draw from the battery exceeds > ~80 amps or so. If you keep a very light foot so the amps stay low, you can go all electric until the battery is down. Exceed the amp switchover point, even for a millisecond, and the ICE starts.

Those numbers are approximate, but you get the idea. Ideally you'll get to where you're going with a battery around 40% or so, which seems to be the case for most trips.

I have faith that the Fathom will also have good battery management.
