I think it looks interesting, and I say good for Slate.
I believe they will need all the fleet sales they can get to be viable. I doubt that the addition of a high top cargo cover will make much difference for the residential buyer (especially if the top is too tall for a garage?), but for in-city fleet / service sales it could be a big deal for them. If SLATE is ultimately successful, it will bring continued pressure on FORD to keep the Fathom competitive. Anyone wanting a Fathom should be cheering on SLATE (and visa-versa), as well as all the other entry level EVs and trucklets.
My concern will be if the lack of a rear visibility will be hampered by the lack of a large screen for a rear camera view (and of course if it exceeds the nominal height for parking garages and garage doors.
