Put on your tin foil hats. Yes, I am aware this is nutty, but part of the fun of not knowing is trying to guess the truth.

If you go to the hidden barcode site and watch the middle video, you will see the image below show up on a few frames out of nowhere. It's short enough that it could be missed, but obvious enough that no video editor would have forgotten to remove it. Was it on purpose and why?

Since this video was present before the name became public, there might be some hints. Obviously, "HUGH E. VEE" is "Huge EV" and "ECONOMY" is a reference to the low price target. The barcodes are meaningless, as far as I can tell, as no reader recognized them.

Tinfoil hat theory 1: This fake ticket was screaming the "Fathom" name. A fathom is six feet. There are 6s all over this ticket. 'F' is the sixth letter of the alphabet.

Tinfoil hat theory 2: The "crow flies" distance between the two airports is 262.79 miles. Seems very "standard battery" range....

Tinfoil hat theory 3: F616A2 at the bottom could be hinting at a color of some kind, but I don't see Ford using this color unless it is a wrap option:

Some ways of encoding color go right to left, so that might be fun. By right to left, I mean grab the rightmost two digits, then the middle two, then the left. The many ways of encoding colors drove me bonkers in my software days. Web vs Windows, etc.

I considered this one too. 3555 might be a reference to a 3500 tow rating.

Also, given that airport codes are supposed to be three characters, I wonder if the "SD" and "SLO" are hinting at trims at launch.

Skunkworks is located in Long Beach between San Diego and San Luis Obispo. The driving distance between SD and SLO is 312 miles and the distance between LB and SLO is 209 miles. Could be indicators of standard and extended range, but it’s just as likely that those cities were used to show off the Fathoms California roots. It also gives them an excuse to use a surfboard to show off the midgate.

It’s a gate, so mid gate?

• 35 inches is 2’ 11” (gained with mid gate down)
• 55 inches is 4’ 7” (mid gate up bed)
• Total is 7” 6’ (almost 8 foot bed)

Flight length is 72 minutes, which could indicate 72 weeks from Feb 17 2026 to launch date (July 2027).

Or could be 72” cargo length with mid gate down (or tailgate open)

(it better not be 72 minutes charge time!!!)

There’s probably some performance number in there too, given the emphasis on Mustang-like acceleration.

After hearing from the attendance at the Ford Dealer Meeting, I can't wait to get all this information out to you on all the standard equipment. This will be as hot as the Ford Maverick was in 2021. I hope Ford is ready for the sales. I don't know how they can sell this truck for $30k with all the equipment. Better grab one the first year before the prices go up.

Absoulutely correct!

Fathom will sell like hotcakes and once the first year models with the promised standard equipment are sold, remember what Ford did to the Lightning and Mach E - they started to strip out features, benefits, and options so that they can continue making them for profit.

Knowing this well as I had purchased the first year Lightning and 2nd year (turned into 3rd year) Mach E.

I’m a bit less worried about feature deletes here than on a conventional vehicle architecture like the C2 Maverick, mainly because most of it is in software on the main processor as opposed to individual physical modules that can be left out for cost savings.

The only real savings possible would be leaving out some of the advanced sensors needed for Blue Cruise.

Of course the marketing people could do dumb things like switching off features to artificially differentiate price levels. Maverick followers may remember Ford added cost to the XL by making a special steering wheel without the cruise control buttons even though every ECM has the functionality by default. Common sense eventually prevailed and XL got it back, so hopefully those marketeers have been shown the door by now.

Agreed, Fathom sales should be very strong. I hope Long McArthur will be ready too!
