Any wagers on BlueCruise - 3 years or 90 days ?

Anyone care to wager if BlueCruise option will be included for 90 days or 3 years for the first year production Fathom ??

I know I love BlueCruise - use it a lot in my Mach E.

Even renewed (free 4th year) thanks to Ford.

At entry level MSRP, I'd bet no more than a short trial period?

I got 3 years and a bonus year on my 2022 KingRanch Powerboost

I got 90 days on my 2023.5 Mach-E GTPE

What’s anyones guess as to if the “Ford Power Promise “will be offered as an incentive for purchasing this truck?(or a 2K incentive if you already have a charger) ? Ford could also incentivize this truck ,to knock down doc fees at some dealers with offering the “X”plan.should be interesting come early 2027

Much like the Maverick, I don't think we will see a lot of incentives. At least nothing substantial. It's pretty much been a seller's market for the Maverick since the day it was released. I can't help but draw some parallels.

We did get a couple of thousand off a 2025 AWD Lariat 4K tow Maverick for my daughter. But that was a special order, highly optioned truck being purchased from a dealership that I have done business with for 25 years.

Of course the market could change drastically from what it is today. The world is volatile and unpredictable, admittedly.

Will they need an incentive? If early orders meet or exceed manufacturing capacity why bother giving up margin?

BlueCruise hardware is standard on the Expedition, and it only came with a 90-day trial by default (though there was an option to get the 7-year plan at the factory). I can see Ford offering a home install as an option, but not standard. I think they will go the Tesla route and just include a mobile charger, but it will be up to you to install anything at your home. Assuming I get one, with the rate I drive anyway, I could keep it charged with ye olde 15A 110V.

I wonder what the "while engaged" accident stats are for BlueCruise? I have no idea, and I don't recall seeing any press from Ford. I do recall seeing GM bragging that they have 700+ million accident free miles with UltraCruise active. I seem to recall NHTSA was investigating BlueCruise this year for a couple of crashes.

I'll take any system that has a billion accident free miles. Every day of the week. Especially when they go eyes free (even though I'll still be eyes on).

Anybody know the actual BlueCruise accident statistics? I did some Internet sleuthing and came up mostly blank. I'm very aware that if it's an eyes-on system, I'm responsible for supervision. So I'm not about to slam BlueCruise if the human was texting while driving.


The feds said these crashes were not the fault of BlueCruise, as the drivers should have intervened.

I'm a fan of self-driving systems, including BlueCruise. Please don't misinterpret my question as trolling or hater-speak.

There have been a few accidents using BC but those were mainly user error (lack of eyes on the road or sleeping w/ fake eyes) issues.

Compared to Tesla's FSD optioned accidents which have gained more media attention, Ford has been very scarce.

I would be curious to know how many of those accidents are due to BlueCruise turning off unexpectedly while the driver isn't paying attention. There is a weird spot on the Florida Turnpike where BlueCruise turns off for a quarter of a mile for some reason.

In USAF, I took an insane amount of human factors training. The average human sucks at monitoring highly reliable systems. We give them undeserved trust after they work for a period of time.

Then it takes us several seconds when unexpectedly alerted to interpret the alert, assess the situation, create an action plan, position our body, and physically intervene. I can't count how many times I died in the simulator because of this.

100% correct.

In my flight school class - aviation safety and flight risk management, we learned how reliance on automation can cause accidents.

Chesley Sullenberger who landed a jet on the Hudson river showed how human reaction times, decision making and low altitude created an impossible safe landing.

Since no domestic pilots were trained to land on water, it was sheer "stick and rudder" skills landing that Sully had - flying gliders in the past.
