Fathom Frunk Patent Images Revealed

Riley said in a past post that the truck would be revealed in early 2027. It has to be the Detroit auto show in Jan. can't think of a better time or event to do it at. Unless Ford does a standalone media event independent of auto shows.

January will be here before we know it. But it would be nice to get some nibbles between now and then. More interviews with engineers and designers, maybe teasing the shape under a tarp, showing styling sketches, or like a close up of various styling elements.

That is what Ford stated.

There has been nothing new there since it was found and has the same annoying "Come back Soon" message when Ford has released NOTHING New since the naming announcement on August 6th almost TWO months ago.

The only news on the Fathom since that announcement that have been posted here are from forum members (myself included) who have tracked down interviews and info like patents.

So when @rileyfromford says "Soon™" it now just grates on me as it has a meaningless time frame.

"Soon" is a flexible word that means an action will happen in the near future, but it does not have a strict or fixed definition.

What "Soon" Means

• Unspecified Time: The exact timeframe depends entirely on the context and the person saying it. For a fast task, it might mean minutes; for a major project, it could mean days or weeks.
• Asking for Clarity: As discussed on italki, asking "How soon is soon?" is a way to request a precise deadline or an exact schedule when a vague timeline is not helpful.
• Tone and Emotion: Users on Quora agree that repeating or questioning "soon" can show impatience, doubt, or frustration when you feel you have already waited too long.

So come on Ford. Actually post something NEW.

Dealers have sat in it and touched it in person at the "Annual Ford Motor Company Dealer Meeting" last month, where dealerships were able to send one or two reps to the meeting (usually it was one of the dealership owners or highest level management from the dealership, not just some random employee). This is already well beyond people seeing photos.



It is called building anticipation, and it is clearly working. Look at us talking about it. Look at this forum full of excitement and rumors and conspiracy theories.



Everything I have seen published so far indicates ordering is planned to open in quarter 1, production begins later. That could mean orders don't even open until March of 2027......production starting later. There is no need for any orders to be placed to determine customer preference if the options and trims will be limited, which reliable sources say they will. This isn't going to be a "25 packages to choose from with 4 trim levels and 15 colors" truck. Ford can crank out thousands of "stock" orders for dealerships to have on the lot to sell to people who didn't pre-order or who don't give a crap about the color or if it is AWD versus RDW, or standard range versus extended range. There is very little need for Ford to even allow pre-orders.

Could also be there are unresolved technical,supply, or marketing issues that need to e solved before committing anything solid in writing.
