I hope the "Extended Range" battery in the Fathom is LFP as well. LFP range is real range because you can use all of it as often as suits you.

And I would love it if it were at least 25KWH bigger.
I watched a few videos yesterday on the Fathom and in one of them it was absolutely stated that the initial battery both the standard and extended range will be LFP.

LFP range translates to non-EV people better, because petro vehicles range IS based on the amount of gallons that fit in the tank.

One of the first "hard lessons" for the first EV'r is that you are taught that 300 mile range is really ~240, because of the "best practices" they are taught for charging.

Basically don't fill it up, and don't run it too low.

LFP? You just treat it like a gas tank. 300 miles range is real range.

You don't see only highway range numbers from EV's currently on the market so I don't see Ford stating those.

Yes, 100% correct.

LFP is a much better choice for first time EV owners as well as those that practice charging to 100% even on NCM batteries.

SOC buffers will still prevent you from truly reaching 100% charge no matter LFP or NCM.

Even if the charge indicator shows 100% on the screen, it's really less than that and vice versa for discharge - never really reach 0% cell state.

Battery designers don't want to stress cells by going all the way down to 0 and up to 100.
