I would love an X-plan for loyal customers who don't have access to X-plans.
For the definition of loyal that involves being a shareholder, Ford used to offer X-Plan to those holding 100+ shares of F for 6+ months. That ended back in 2022. As @eStang notes, you can buy X-Plan access through MCA. Note that you must be a digital or standard (not associate) member of MCA for 90+ days prior to your X-Plan purchase.

X Plan rules have changed in the past few years. The doc fee cap is now all the way up to $300 and there is also a $375 admin fee. Still beats the $800+ average doc fee around here.

The dealerships around me suck and aren't going to give anyone anything close to below invoice, and definitely not 3% below. X Plan is probably still going to be the least annoying way to buy one within a few hours of where I live. Wish we had a good dealership anywhere in the area.
The fee would be now take most of the savings for the lower priced vehicles. It would probably be better on an $80k F250 or something. The doc fee limit would still be great added savings depending on the Dealer.

The one thing to mention is Dealers don't have to accept the X-plan. You need to talk to the Dealer before, see if they will take it and what their Dealer fee is.

It is a way to save money but it's most likely that people are not going to get a 4% savings on a $30k truck.

As a retiree for twenty years now, who's received the benefit something like five times, I can attest that is not so. That's from multiple dealers in multiple states. I had to register once with IDME from the Ford site. Since then, I just go to the IDME site and get my certificate. Always honored without question.
I did 8 years and been out for 12. I've applied for the Ford Military Discount Program 3 times over those years and been denied each time with ID.me. I did it again yesterday and was denied. Same 2 years away from service line
