Ford Fathom Auto show appearances/demo drive availability before delivery

Here is hoping Ford hits the auto show circuit hard, in the first half of 2027 (especially the N.Y.I.A.S.) where possible test drives could take place.The other option is to have demo’s at select locations

The first batch will be the auto show and media review batch. Demo units are likely to be in short supply depending on initial demand.

Ford had touch but don’t drive Mavericks on lots while taking orders, as I recall. I went to look and sit one at thetime. The interior was not my taste, so I passed at the time. How did they handle the Mache introduction?

Pre-intro test drives are very unlikely. The only time I remember them doing that was with the Fiesta and that's because they shipped over production models from Europe while the US model was still under development. I think there's just too many issues with having regular consumers drive cars that aren't saleable/production-spec.
That said Ford would be very wise to get static display units to all the regional auto shows in the 2026/27 season.

I'm pretty sure if Ford will just undress the truck, removing the camo, and let the public actually SEE it........

Another huge surge of attention will result.

Then start trickling out some of the details of the fairly sizeable number of new-for-Ford attributes about this truck. For example, do an in depth dive into the 48V system.

They have plenty of material to work with to tease the consumer all the way to one being delivered to the first customer.

With the Maverick, you were able to catch one in person when Ford did a dealership service tour prior to release. They were taking them around to dealerships to familiarize the service staff with the vehicle. I don't remember how far in advance of sale that was.
