It's a guess, of course. But as good a guess as I've seen so far.
But I've seen so many of them by now that statistically speaking, I've probably seen one or two pretty good guesses. I just can't determine which one(s).
It's actually quite possible that someone's Lightning, or Mach-E, or even F150 Ecoboost reach 200,000 miles and not need anything serious addressed by the parts department or the dealership service bay.
Far more common than forums might imply.
But I still get the point.
I absolutely agree 100% that Slate benefits consumers of the Fathom, as well as the other way around.
I offer evidence:
Ford released the F150 Powerboost in 2021. And although Ford might have underestimated its success, it's amazing that no other manufacturer has yet to try to get a piece of...
I was once an EV contemplator. Had never owned one, but was definitely being drawn.
Range opinions then, vs range opinions now that I'm on my 3rd EV?
They, my range opinions, have changed dramatically.
It's not that range became less important, but it absolutely causes zero anxiety. But...
I don't know how "Lariet" it might be, but it absolutely is more tech equipped than the base Maverick that it is apples/apples price-wise fair to compare to.
Or put another way, if you were allowed to build a Maverick any way you wanted to, but you were capped at $28.5 (before destination)...
I'm not saying that I wouldn't appreciate a faster charge rate, but I'm just wired differently as a geezer than I was in my younger days.
T I M E just doesn't have me by the throat like it used to.
I do a fair amount of fast charging lately, but over the past 3+ years of dailying electric, 99% of my charging was while I sleep. So I never cared about charge rate. But now that I've changed my habits to driving electric even when I travel, as well as towing the RV, I live in the 150KW world...
That's great news.
LFP range translates to non-EV people better, because petro vehicles range IS based on the amount of gallons that fit in the tank.
One of the first "hard lessons" for the first EV'r is that you are taught that 300 mile range is really ~240, because of the "best practices"...
The Denali EV has a Regen paddle on the left side of the steering wheel.
So while you are driving along in cruise control, obviously 1-pedal isn't doing anything, nor can you use your foot to slow down. (obviously)
So at the point YOU think it is appropriate to decelerate, you have your foot...
Bluecruise and 1 pedal are gimmicks? 🤔
I completely understand someone not desiring one or both. But that doesn't qualify as a gimmick. Or put another way, those that enjoy Bluecruise and/or 1 pedal aren't being spoofed. They are actual features that function.
By the way, if you master...
One pedal in my Nissan Leaf waz anemic, but I preferred it over coasting.
One Pedal in my Mach-E was so much better, and made me realize what Nissan was hinting at. I mastered Mach-E one pedal, but often still had to use the brake pedal when driving aggressive.
Imagine my surprise to...
I'm betting it is not Sync4
(Although I gotta be honest, I don't dislike Sync4, even though it's vogue to. The Gen14 F150 is 6 years in now, and Sync4 has reached mature and stable status)
I fear that whatever it is, if it's NOT Sync4, it's still going to be one of the more criticized aspects...
Powerboosting an ICE truck doesn't appear to be that expensive, especially at the scale of the F-series sales.
The F150 Powerboost option barely costs more than the 3.5 Ecoboost equivalent. At some trim levels, Ford just gives the option away at no charge.
Story goes that Ford way...
I have put many thousands of interstate Bluecruise/SuperCruise miles on my F150 and GMC Sierra EV.
It's a waste of time defending it with those that haven't used it for long interstate runs, but I personally will pony up for it on any interstate run I make.
Ford is betting so much more on the UEV platform than what the general consumer would be aware of.
It's basically bet the farm.
My only complaint with Ford is their insane sandbagging on the electrification of their legacy behemoth models. They could and should be disrupting the American...
Although I can believe that few vehicles Ford will build will get the development investment that the Lightning and Mach-E got, I don't think Ford would be willing to risk so much with this new platform as to go low quality.
And as for the vehicle costing considerably less than the Mach-E and...
I don't know about dirt cheap.
I still haven't seen dirt cheap except some of the lease deals on things like the previous generation Leaf.
But I will agree that the Maverick is perhaps "affordable", when stacked up against what else is available to Americans in our home market.
That, along...
Never had an issue with my Mach-E door handles, but admittedly I am fairly vigilant at making sure I have a healthy 12V battery in every vehicle I own. A dead battery sucks in any vehicle that needs one to operate.
