What features do you hope the Fathom might have?

I want everything that I have on my Mach E Premium!

Sounds like I will have to upgrade in trim because no way it would be under $30K.

Anyone know if there will be an XLT, Lariat, Platinum or King Ranch version Fathom ?

My must-haves, or else I keep my Maverick:

• BlueCruise
• A bold blue paint (not pastel blue)
• Vented seats
• Trim on par with or better than Maverick Lariat
• 360 cameras
• The ability to turn off one-pedal. I have too much muscle memory coasting by taking my foot off the gas.

My unlikely wishes:

• A bed the same size as the Maverick so I can reuse my bed accessories.
• Autopark
• The digital trailer mirrors the Expedition has
• Factory wrap options in lieu of a large paint palette.

I’m waiting to see if Ford decided to dump the AM/FM radio, as some others have done.

Both Tesla and Rivian have eliminated the radio in favour of internet connected radio apps, which are dependent on cellular connections and subject to injected advertising or subscriptions.

I can’t believe Ford would do that to their traditional customers base, many of whom depend on free radio in areas with poor data coverage. But some of the skunkworks guys have lots of Tesla ideas so it’s possible.

I will be extremely disappointed if there is no conventional radio.

Yes, I am aware that what I want will be more than $30K. The whole "$20K" Maverick thing never bothered me because I went with a Lariat Lux 4K. I've become hoity-toity as I've gotten older...

Ford's earnings earlier this year made a point that they're upping the proportion of base trims in 2026 to meet customer demand. And you can order anything from Ford exactly as you want it - as many of us have.

Another favorite narrative is how dealers will charge $5,000 above MSRP. Again, not if you have half a brain. Even in the early days, you could order a Maverick from one of the national volume dealers like Long McArthur, and they deliver to your driveway for $500. Those guys get hundreds of a popular model every month, and they typically discount from sales day one. And your local dealership doesn't care. They make money from service, not sales.

I too am willing to pay for some goodies. I am old, 77, and even if this is going to be my surf mobile to carry surfboards, I want the blindspot and other safety stuff as well as some comfort stuff. If it has that stuff, I may even use it to run errands and other 'round town stuff. I am too old to want to spend a lot of time "tuning" my Slate.

-BLIS
-Electrochromic mirrors
-Cross traffic alert
-360 camera
-Large screen for use with CarPlay.
-digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel (a small one like the Mach e is fine).
-keep physical buttons
-radio and speakers (nothing fancy)
-ac vents for the back row
-auto headlights

Nice to haves:

-rubber floors
-roll down rear window
-digital rear view mirror
-memory seats
-frunk
-intelligent access
-sentry mode/dashcam
-truck bed storage compartment and dual action tailgate like the Honda ridgeline
-CarPlay ultra

What I don’t want:

-subscriptions
-blue cruise or any other drivers assistance
-ford’s infotainment. No need to spend millions on this when I’m just going to use CarPlay anyways
-midgate. Makes the vehicle more expensive for a feature you might use once a year if that. It’s just as easy to open the tailgate or rest items on top of the tailgate.
-copycat Kia wheels like in the spy shots
-one single screen in the middle of the dash (like Tesla)

I also like the plastic body panels on the slate. Being able to easily remove and replace them yourself seems nice, and you don’t have to worry about door dings.

I agree 1000%. Large wheels with low profile tires are worse for EV range and hurt ride quality. They exist solely for appearance and I want nothing to do with them.

Here for the platform, so:

• Bi directional charging (confirmed)
• Flat, consistent DC fast charging from about 10-70% Like 175kw, but hold it
• Excellent route planning with arrival SoC settings, “find me a different charger, sooner, I’m hungry,” battery preconditioning with a confirmation icon, “I can route you to a more distant charger…”
• Manual preconditioning button for “I gotta pee” moments on road trips.
• Telemetry on screen. Basically, take OBD, make it pretty, and put it on the screen. What’s my battery temp is like What’s my transmission temp?
• At least 3500 tow rating, but really to get 350 tongue weight. Hitch available, factory installed.
• Sizable frunk. One roller bag good, two excellent, more… shut your mouth
• At least 11kw ac charging
• Good voice control
• Ultra wide band antennas to know who’s in the driver’s seat and more reliable PaaK
• Spare tire or backward compatibility with my Mach-e modern spare. A place to mount an aftermarket spare
• Comfortable suspension (Mach E owner )
• New driver MyKey settings than slow acceleration, copy Life360 (subscription), drowsy alets, and set driving hours. Allow parental overrides through the app.

5. At least a 60-40 bench split/folding seats)

Looking at the Slate forum where I put up a non refundable $300 deposit that I will now lose - pointed out what the Fathom will have and got crickets - no one wants to reply.

Fathom has WAY more standard equipment that outstrips the Slate.
By the time the Slate is outfitted with all the standard equipment of the Fathom, it will be way pricier !

Correct me if I am wrong, but the Fathom comes standard with:

• Paint color of your choice,
• V2L/V2H,
• BlueCruise hands free automation,
• LKAS & BLIS
• Electric power windows,
• 2 row seating + 4 doors,
• Apple CarPlay + Android Auto w/ touch screen,
• Radio / stereo system ?

Fathom has WAY more standard equipment that outstrips the Slate.
By the time the Slate is outfitted with all the standard equipment of the Fathom, it will be way pricier

I don't believe it is even possible for the Slate to be optioned UP at ANY price, to equal the base content of the Fathom. It's just not how the Slate product model is designed.

I'm not dissing the Slate by pointing that out. In fact, I personally desire great success for all American automotive manufacturers in this amazing revolution of electrification.
