Tim says fully loaded Fathom well below mid 30's

Not speculation but fact.

Tim is in the know as in he was told the actual numbers that Ford told the dealers at a dealer meeting where he and others got to see and get in the Fathom along with pricing.

He is not allowed to state those numbers by Ford so he hedges by saying statements like:

Tim: Fully loaded Fathom is well below mid 30's - a fact not speculation he knows the number

Will the ER battery be $10,000 like the F-150 Lightning?
Ford Answer: NO, It will be significantly less than that

Tim: (with a look) You will be surprised (in a good way) how cheap it will be for the ER battery - a fact he knows the number

Tim: You will be very impressed at the price level with what's included as standard equipment - again he knows what features are included standard

You totally misinterpreted my posting. I've been a Tim fan for ages. I was not referring to Tim when I mentioned "speculation".

I think we are interpreting his comments differently. He explicitly states he knows the range, and then says 200 is the goal. He qualifies this by stating he believes it’s been released publicly. I interpret this as he accidentally let the SR battery range slip, especially since they switch to talking about the ER battery immediately after and he says he can’t talk about its range. It sounds like you think he misspoke and meant to say 300?

Second he did not acknowledge that 200 range number all he stated is that is his opinion the number will probably be leaked by some dealers then he could confirm or deny.

When he stated this, the conversation had completely switched to the ER battery and he was saying eventually its range would be leaked and then he could discuss it. I don’t think this was related to the SR battery at all.

Also no way do I believe that the Fathom would have 5 miles less range than the non-aero boxy Slate.

I think it’s completely reasonable that the fathoms range would be similar to the slate. Fathom is much larger, and heavier. So even with a more aerodynamic design, it could have similar range. We also know that ford is going after smaller batteries to make the price cheaper. Smaller batteries usually mean less range.

I do agree with you on that you usually don’t see a 100 mile range gap between SR and ER batteries. Usually it’s around 60-70 miles. My guess is SR is 200-220 miles and ER is 280-300.

This vehicle will hit $40k REAL fast. Just watch and see.

$ 2,500 destination
$ 3,500 ER battery (very conservative guess)
$ 2,000 for AWD
$ 1,500 all additional options you may desire
$ 2,500 sales tax (using our 6% rate here in KY)
$ 750 dealer fees/doc fees (typical for dealers around here)

Now you're at $41k and if you find a dealer who will sell at a discount you might get out the door for $40k. AND, this is likely NOT even a fully loaded Fathom. This is just ER battery, AWD, and one options package (they always have several packages to choose from on their vehicles).

40k+ OTD yeah for sure, but for an apples to apples comparison that's also the case for the Maverick and other "cheap" vehicles too. Dealerships have gotten incredibly greedy with doc fees in my area too and our sales tax is even higher (TN, 7% + $80).

Since the price difference between a $34,000 small EV truck and a mid-trim Expedition at $74,000 is around $40,000 those items are probably not included.

Hence my original post. What is not being included to still be considered "fully loaded"?

I believe in another thread the standard battery spec was already revealed at 57 kW. And yet a separate thread revealed the chemistry as LFP. So we already know that stuff.

The guesses we're making about the cost of the ER upgrade, AWD, etc. all come from educated guesses based on pricing for the same things in existing Ford vehicles. So, while it is just speculation, it's almost certainly close to reality.

The only wildcard right now is the packaging. How much is standard vs. what you have to order via optional packages. That could potentially swing the price a couple thousand bucks either way. But even without add-on packages, this is a truck that's $37k or more configured with ER battery and AWD which is what most people will want. And that's sort of what we're getting at here....the idea that this truck will be "fully loaded" for "well below the mid $30k's" is a pipe dream.

I'll be replacing a 2022 Lightning Lariat w/ the 511, so I don't care if a loaded Fathom with the same gear as a loaded Maverick Lariat is $40k+. That is probably more realistic. Following the Maverick trims and options.

From the sounds of it the base model has a lot. I’d bet the base is closer to a Larait than an XLT maverick.

I think the things you’ll see in the upgraded trim are things that are easily swappable:
-heated/ventilated/leather 8-way power seats (standard is only power driver and may have heated)
-upgraded sound system

Other individual options:
-7 year blue cruise plan
-4WD
-Extended range
-Appearance packages (blacked out or street-line) with larger wheels.
-colors beyond gray and white

Insulated glass could be standard/option or not exist.

I think midgate will be in all trims to simplify manufacturing and no option for glass roof or sunroof for same reason. I doubt there will be different shocks or lift like you’d see in a tremor package.

My reasoning is that the options don’t change anything on the front or rear castings. All of the options only change the middle casting which simplifies the factory.

In another video on this forum they said that the ER will start with a 3. So I’m guessing it’s around a 60 kWh and 95kwh pack getting 210ish and 310ish.

I don't know how "Lariet" it might be, but it absolutely is more tech equipped than the base Maverick that it is apples/apples price-wise fair to compare to.

Or put another way, if you were allowed to build a Maverick any way you wanted to, but you were capped at $28.5 (before destination), the Fathom is reported to be a much better equipped truck.

We did special order a 2025 AWD Hybrid Maverick Lariat with 4K. Pretty much every option, but purposely omitted glass in the roof. I think MSRP was $42k

It's been a heck of a truck and my daughter still loves it after 24,000 miles.

Considering what the Fathom STARTS at, with regards to features, the spread between $28.5k to $42k is almost $14k

That's far more than I suspect Ford would need to Lariatize the Fathom to match the Maverick. Pure speculation on my part, but I bet you could get there for $38K. And frankly, $38k is outstanding value equation for an electric Maverick Lariat AWD. (even though I'm perfectly happy if Ford chooses NOT to use the trim-level architecture for this platform that Ford customers are well versed in with the legacy product line)
