I like and dislike both handles and handless entry so lets split the difference if its 4 door 2 of each and just to make the design interesting, the handles or lack of handles should be shared across the vehicle in other words front drivers door handled and front passenger door handleless the rear would the exact opposite! This way both camps are 1/2 way happy.. I jut want a very operable vehicle that can tow!

As long as I have access into the vehicle. I’m good.

Your description literally shows why it's more complicated. More connections, more moving parts, and pesky electrons to manage. Not everything needs to be reinvented and computerized.
I assumed that was sarcasm…

A good discussion. I've owned or driven almost every EV aka used all the door handles. Immediate family has had 12 different EVs since 2022. We currently have a 2025 ME and 2022 Lightning in our house.
I have thought the indent below the handle was the way to go.

I also had a Mach-E that suffered from the push button not always opening the door.

What happens in winter when the car is covered in snow and ice? You just walk to work? Use your phone to unlock the door and hope you can find a way to pry it open since there's no handle?

I hope for real handles. The less electronic and computerized junk they put on this truck, the more reliable and long lasting and easy to repair it'll be.
Unlike Tesla, Ford (being based in Michigan) did at least think that whole winter part through a bit. E-Latch has a motorized door pusher to pop the doors open. Unless iced over to an extreme extent, the doors should still open when parked outside in wintery conditions.

Which seems unnecessarily complicated compared to mechanical door latches, but hey, tiny aero savings and cool factor...

I ripped the door handle right off my 2000 Tahoe when trying to open an iced over door. Ended up getting the rear hatch open to get in.

Winter can be a pain. I get door handles covered in ice every year. But it's pretty each to chip or melt ice off a door handle. Not so easy to do when it's a button integrated into the body of the vehicle.

We discussed in another thread, but the door handles are supposed to be similar to the mach e and the handles you see in the spy photos are fake. Guess we won’t know for sure until they show it to us.

I for one dont mind the mach e door handles, however I’d much rather have a mechanical handle for safety reasons.
I loved trying to test drive a Mach-e only for the dealership to realize it had a dead battery. It was actually quite humorous watching what they had to go through to get in, I asked what happens if you don't happen to have a 12V jump box handy. No comment. Not sure I'd ever want Mach-e style handles on anything.

Never had an issue with my Mach-E door handles, but admittedly I am fairly vigilant at making sure I have a healthy 12V battery in every vehicle I own. A dead battery sucks in any vehicle that needs one to operate.

Lol, true. But at least your truck has a key. And batteries can unexpectedly go bad, at the worst possible time, even on a brand new car sitting on a dealership's lot. Still a bad idea...
