right - this could either be a stroke of engineering genius, or a new point of failure. Fingers crossed that it's the former.I think the ct has a 48v battery. Going without a low voltage battery would be interesting. The transformer is going to be running 24/7.
I think they have said that most of the lineup should be reworked to the new software defined platform by 2035. EUV then F150 EREV then the super dutyās and other gas cars.Wondering if moving forward, Ford will use this new wire harness across the lines and put everything from F750 and E-Series right on down to all the other Fords to a 48v zonal system.
Iām hoping they offer a longer warranty tjan normal on this truck.
Cybertruck has a 48V lithium ion battery.I knew about most of this, but not the elimination of the low voltage battery. I don't think I've seen an EV do that before. Maybe the Cybertruck, which is also 48V?

How would it even work to eliminate the low voltage battery entirely? In a typical hybrid or EV, the low voltage battery amongst other things powers the high-voltage contactors which electrically isolate the HVB from the vehicle when disconnected.
So your low voltage battery allows you to unlock the vehicle and when you start it, instead of starting an ICE, it closes the contactors - almost like an industrial grade light switch - and the electric powertrain comes to life.

I was thinking more along the lines of a bumper to bumper warranty. Wondering how this new wiring harness system will hold up, the completely new 3 section design and assembly etc. etc. lots of firsts on this vehicle. Iām not really concerned too much about the HVB.
