I watched this one a few weeks back. It was funny how they went back and forth over her Mach E. I think he suggested she extend her Mach E lease so she could replace it with the UEV.

Actually he told her to lease the latest Mach E as it has been improved since her first lease on her current Mach E.

I like how they aren’t screwing around with self driving. Just trying to perfect L3.

L3 on controlled access highways is so much simpler than city self driving. They might actually be able to get it out by 2028.

As someone who drives 20,000 miles a year 90% of it on the highway that would be life changing.

I personally don't care as much about full self-driving as I do about reducing commuter fatigue.

I have a 16-mile stretch that takes me on average 1 hr in stop-and-go traffic. It is mentally exhausting. Judging by the amount of severe daily accidents on that stretch I'm not alone.

I guess I'm still odd man out, because I don't see much difference between resting my hands in my lap and resting them on the steering wheel. Still have to keep your eyes on the road. Still have to maintain control. So what's the real benefit of BlueCruise? I'd rather them keep that off the vehicle and give me the cash back as a rebate.

We're in that strange place where driver-assist tech is promising and useful but not yet perfected. It's totally reasonable for two people to have very different takes on it.

My personal use case is super clear to me. I'm 70 and counting. I see that transportation van for all the local elderly that drops them at the supermarket or the doctors. Before I reach 80, I want my robot car to do that for me. It's an independence thing.

With a gazillion of us Boomers aging into dependency, true self-driving could be as liberating as the birth control pill.

I have put many thousands of interstate Bluecruise/SuperCruise miles on my F150 and GMC Sierra EV.

It's a waste of time defending it with those that haven't used it for long interstate runs, but I personally will pony up for it on any interstate run I make.

That's a good point. Everyone views it differently. To me, independence is ME being able to do it. A world where robots rule and human value is lost is terrifying. When I get to the point that I can't drive my truck where I want to go, then I don't need to go. Just keep nice flowers on my grave.
