No idea at this stage, but that was an incentive added to get you to buy an EV as the market softened. If they get a ton of early orders, then why bother?

If Ford does the volume they are hoping to I could see them backpedaling on this. I hope the program is available if / when I buy mine

When you want 100,000 orders, incentives in a tight market for retail sales may make a difference.

This would be a good incentive. Current EV owners likely need to upgrade their charger to NACS to avoid using an adapter, and non-EV owners will need one anyway

When I leased my Lightning, they offered $500 credit or the Power Promise. I took the $500 off my lease total and bought an Emporia refurbished charger for $372 and wired it in myself. Money ahead. But I prefer DIY methods.

Do some research on the third party that Ford used for this and some of the quotes and shortfalls that arose from this program.

I've had my Emporium EVSE for about 4 years. It has worked flawlessly.
I doubt I would replace it just to avoid using an adapter.

Admittedly I'm influenced that way because the next EVSE I buy will likely cost more than what the Emporium cost me. About double, in fact.

We have a J1772 on my wife’s driveway. So I’d rather add a charger to my driveway than deal with moving cars and the constant on-off of an adapter when we will both plug in twice a week.

When I leased my F-150 Lightning, I took advantage of this promotion. Ford sent a couple of technicians out to my house, and they completely wired up an awesome 60-amp charger for me at no cost to me. The Ford Power Promise promotion was literally the thing that got me to sign papers. Without it, I don't know that I would have taken the Lightning home that day.
