Has there been any information put out regarding the expected towing capacity? Since Maverick is capped at 4k, I assume the Ranchero will be rated lower but I haven't seen any articles on this.

i don't recall any hints of expected towing capacity, though if it's being classified as a mid-size truck it really ought to be able to tow at least 3000-3500 lbs (and have a factory brake controller included or available as an option that doesn't require high trims or extra packages).

These two trucks were recently spotted as a Tesla supercharging location

Well, well, well, look who found the thread! Y’all really went down a rabbit hole on this one. I work at Ford, so my lips are sealed for now... but I love the energy. Keep going, you might be closer than you think.

Ford is HUGE!

I mean you could work at Ford and be completely unaware of the UEV even existing.

Or, completely on the other end of the spectrum, you could be employed IN the UEV program.

Either way though, good to see you here. I hope it increases the value of the forum and the Ford customers who purchase the Ranchero.

If, Ranchero is the right name? 😜🤣🤣

Honestly? The name is the least interesting thing you could ask me. Anyway - say hi to my colleague Brian over on the Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning forums!

I actually know Brian, I'm not Ai, as he's formally known. 😁
(I'm fresh off a 2 year stint as a Mach-E GTPE owner and Brian is great for the forum!)

That's a high bar.
I'm wishing you luck Riley.

So, you say the name isn't interesting, but it'd be hilarious if it turns out NOT to be the Ford Ranchero EV. Are you officially confirming that the forum is in fact correctly named? 🤣

hey Riley, nice to see you on here. acting more like a startup, is the Ford UEV team considering customer input from those of us on the forums in design / engineering choices?

for how long must your lips remain sealed? if i were to know approximately when more details of the UEV pickup will be revealed, i'd be more likely to wait for one rather than purchase something else in the near future as i've been planning.. especially if it perhaps might possibly happen to have a gas powered range extender option available, or if a UEV van is also announced at launch :)

I guess the question I'd ask a data scientist involved with AI is how much visibility Ford's scientists and engineers have into the self-driving models. When training an autonomous driving system, is there something similar to a J-space? I've wondered how impenetrable they are. I'd love to know if the training staff can see the models developing abstract rules such as "don't hit anything solid".

I don't know if you'll be able to answer this or not, but have you seen what the truck looks like? I've seen a wide range of reactions to the way it looks, some said it looked awesome, others said it was ugly, most said it was in the middle, not hideous, but not sexy either.

I think the Ford f-150 demonstrator previews some of the styling if you take that shape, make it maverick sized, and remove the race car bits. I think things like the sloping nose and fender arches from the race truck will influence the design of the skunk truck.

I noticed the RileyFromFord account has an interesting signature. The Brit's have a wonderful expression: "he's tooling with you". Anybody else thinking probably somebody's maybe having a few laughs at human gullibility?

i've wondered if perhaps what we've seen is simply an early test mule for the new platform tech, and if the model that is actually released will be different or larger (or if we'll see more than one UEV vehicle announcement later this year)..
